Oh yes it does feel like summer, or at least it did this weekend when Big Bro and his family came over from Holland to see The Rents.

I haven’t seen Big Bro for quite a while – we’re both doing our own thing – he’s a dad to Mini Clog and Micro Clog now and I’m erm… having fun in the Big Smoke, so it was such a treat to see him and catch up over a beer in the sunshine.

Naturally, Big Bro coming over to England is a big occasion, so the whole family rocked up and I was so excited about the whole thing, that I forgot to pack my first attempt at a ‘Feels like Summer’ sign.

In fact, I was so excited I forgot to pack lots of things, including my hat and sun tan lotion, which resulted in a minor bout of sun stroke and Deafinitely Girly trying not to throw up in Snowboarding Boy’s car the whole way back.

Not one to let Superdrug down in my mission to take the ‘Feels Like Summer’ campaign on the road, I got to work with a new idea – and gave them a ‘Feels Like Summer’ sign – well finger spell to be exact, which in turn has become my new ‘Feels Like Summer’ sign.

 FEELS LIKE SUMMER

So anyway, by late afternoon on Sunday, London Cousins 1 and 2 had discovered a trampoline in the field behind my Rents house, so we legged it over the fence to join them – with permission from the owners – and got jumping.

I haven’t been on a trampoline since I was in a year 10 and even then it was a controlled environment in the local leisure centre where you got 30 seconds to do your thing with everyone spotting you.

*Yawn!

This experience was totally different – and probably a bit more dangerous as Nottnum Cousin 1 found out when he bounced off head-first at an angle and landed in a heap on the floor.

JUMP

Snowboarding Boy impressed everyone by doing a somersault, while I just liked going really really high.

And, seeing as I forgot my sign, I figured I’d make like a tabloid and Photoshop one in… although you kinda need a magnifying glass to see it!!!!

*teehee

Once back in London, I had my sign for real. But I didn’t have no sunshine or no time, as I’m stuck in the office in deadline week looking out at the grey, ominous clouds threatening to burst all over the streets of London.

My sign remained in my bag…

It was really rather depressing.

But I went out with Lovely Freelancer, Gym Buddy and Sample Sale Mate for dinner at a little Mexican bar. The sun came out and so did the sign.

And so, Superdrug’s Feels Like Summer campaign came to Soho.
